Position Summary
The Studio Associate will help deliver a consistent, on-brand wellness experience that our community craves. This role will report into and partner with the Studio General Manager to ensure that our space operates smoothly and our guests have an exceptional experience that leaves them feeling good and vibrant.

Background + Experience
- At least one year of experience in fitness, wellness, hospitality, customer service or related field;
- Minimum age of 18 years; high school graduate or equivalent;
- Degree and/or professional experience in the wellness, athletic recovery, fitness, medical industry preferred.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Studio Associates are the resident experts and key to our client experience as they play a critical role in curating each guest’s Upswell experience. From educating clients on our group classes and sessions, guest service, sales, and maintenance of the studio aesthetic, they touch every aspect of the studio to deliver a positive, “cravable” Upswell brand experience.
- Ensure every client has an exceptional experience by warmly greeting customers, thoroughly explaining our recovery classes and modalities and answering questions. Proactively build a positive relationship with every client.
- Welcome clients and check them into their scheduled class(es) and/or service(s).
- Inquire into client’s Upswell “why”, and suggest Upswell classes, sessions, upcoming events, and partnerships based upon the needs of the client.
- Assist in the management of our POS/client management software.
- Support client account inquiries and issues.
- Maintain a high level of aesthetic throughout the studio by inspecting all areas of the studio, ensuring that equipment and facilities are clean and ready for guests at all times.
- Support all first-time clients with their initial sessions, consistent with Upswell guidelines.
- Assist with client communication or other special projects assigned by the Studio General Manager or Assistant Studio Manager.
Physical Requirements & Environment
- Requires a wide range of constant physical activities, including but not limited to: sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, twisting, pushing, pulling, and reaching;
- Frequent repetitive movements;
- Requires close, distance, peripheral vision and depth perception;
- Continuous exposure to moderate noise;
- Frequent walking and standing on hard surfaces;
- Frequent movement, lifting or carrying of weight up to 50 pounds;
- Frequent use of chemicals, including solvents, cleaners, and laundry detergents.
Schedule & Availability
The Studio Associate - Flex Crew member is a part-time, hourly position and an essential role that helps ensure consistent operating hours by relieving regularly scheduled Studio Associates when they need to take time off. The Studio Associate - Flex Crew members commit to a minimum of 15 hours per month of “sub-in” shifts. Studio Associate - Flex Crew members will be notified on a weekly basis of open shifts, and are expected to pick up a minimum of 15 hours of work per month, depending upon shift availability. This role will require some daytime, night, and weekend shifts.
